Time flies. CNY has come and gone. Rather quietly this year. I don't know if it's due to the passing of my grandma or the economy, but it certainly felt a lot more peaceful this year.
It's almost a month since my grandma moved on. It still seems so recent but then again many major events in the past seem oh-so-recent and yet-so-long-ago... That's what happens as one gets older I suppose. Can't escape it. Gotta embrace it. Mortality. Time.
Time... GST credits just came in. Cheri's dad and my mum just qualified for the senior citizens category... How did my mum grow so old? And then I realised my Aunt's turning 70 this year as well...
Well, onto slightly happier things... Or rather not so happy... You just received your first hard knock on the floor... You were sleeping peacefully on your grandma's bed with your cousin Ian... We were all sitting around outside in the living room... Ian woke up and came out on his own... Before we knew it, we heard a thud... And your piercing cry - you had amazingly navigated past the pillows and bolsters surrounding you and successfully onto the floor... I guess it's not that amazing - we should have known better since you are so mobile nowadays. Always pulling yourself up and cruising around effortlessly. We should have known better. But well, it happens to every child and you aren't the worse for it. We'll try as hard as we can to make sure it never happens again. But then again, we suspect you'll somehow outsmart us again some day... |
