The ripple and the wave |

A ripple in the ocean can gradually build up into a giant wave. One man's actions can change the world.
I was a Christian once. Then I decided that the Christian God wasn't the kind whom I could put my blind faith in. However, I still held onto the idea of a higher power. There was a plan in motion so vast that I will never be able to remotely comprehend. We are afterall, just men.
Events last week led me to ponder if there really was such a higher power. And in the end, I decided that there probably is.
What if one man's death can rally a thousand to action? What if one man's death can change the lives of those around him forever? A man's death might serve as a constant silent reminder to cherish all around us, to never take family and friends for granted, to live life as if each day might be the last.
That perhaps is the lesson. And that is a lesson I intend to hold dear and try my best to act upon. |
