Dreamy Reflections
Posted at Wednesday, July 04, 2007
It's been barely 3 days since our wedding dinner. Yet it feels like so long ago, much like a beautiful dream come true.

Reflecting back on the day itself, I realise how truly blessed I am. Blessed to have truly great parents, relatives and friends who go out of their way to make things work.

Our friends were of immense help. Aaron, Daniel, Ivan, Weihao. My XiongDis were ever present and ready to help in any way possible. Catherine, Cathy, Karen, Pearl. Cheri's Jiemeis were also dedicated in their all tasks. I still haven't had the chance to thank them for their help in cleaning up the wax stain on my pants that morning. Catherine and Wenkai. They were fantastic emcees. Frankly, I only needed them to be just ok. Afterall, I've been to dinners with pretty bland hosts. But the two of them truly surpassed all expectations and really helped to make it a memorable experience.

And of course, our wedding planner Serene. What would we have done without her? I can only imagine all the running around that I would have to do. I would be lost most of the time. She was truly fantastic. Cheri and I both agree that one of the best decisions we made was to engage her help. The cost of hiring a planner against the cost of things screwing up. That's a pretty easy decision to make. She has been truly outstanding for us.

Our photographer Bryan and videographer Bernard. They made it clear why it's important to hire the right people for the right job. Their expertise and professionalism that day was never in doubt. I've certainly never been impressed more by another photographer. Now we just can't wait to see the results.

Our parents. What would we be without them? I'm really lost for words when it comes to how grateful I am to our parents. I just know that if I can be half the parents to my children that my parents were to me, I would have done a darn good job already.

We're finally embarking on the next stage in our journey. But we would never have gone this far without the help of so many loved ones.
