Food Tasting
Posted at Monday, May 28, 2007
First off.... it's great to be home!

Anyway, we had our food tasting yesterday evening at the Jade Restaurant in Fullerton Hotel. It was a fantastic meal. Totally filling. I just hope that the portions we were given will stay the same during the actual dinner.

1. The cold dish was very appetising - there was a crispy seafood roll which tasted like nothing I had before
2. The shark's fins broth was a pretty big bowl - it made me feel pretty full even though it was only the second dish.
3. The steamed fish was good, though my sister-in-law felt it could have been better - I'm glad she was there, I could never differentiate between good and excellent.
4. The fried crispy prawns which was glazed with wasabi mayo had a very unique taste - too bad there was only two for each of us. I would certainly help myself to more, much more, if I could.
5. The crispy boneless chicken with almond & mandarin orange tasted very unique as well - it suited my taste buds very well.
6. Mushrooms with dried scallops - no comments since I don't take this. But everyone else felt it was great.
7. The wok-fried fragrant rice with seafood was damm good. A good way to end the main course.
8. And the best of all, the cream of mango sago with sea coconut and topped with vanilla sauce... Dammit, I should have asked for a second and a third helping of that....

Well, at least we have no complains about the food. Many more things to settle for our wedding. We're having our An Chuan ceremony this Saturday and the Guo Da Li ceremony the next Sunday. And that leaves us with barely three weeks before the wedding. Invitation cards, guest list, photo montage, emcees, wedding cake... And the list goes on and on and on... fortunately not like the duracell bunny....

On another note, it's a small world afterall. At least it's a small Singapore afterall.

Firstly, our wedding planner Serene is actually my friend Daniel's sister-in-law. It's kinda funny now that we look back at it. When I told Daniel that we had engaged Sophia Wedding as our bridal studio, he did mention that his brother had also used them. And we wanted to invite Serene for our ROM as well. If we did, they would have met there and then since Daniel was helping out as my ROM photographer as well. There aren't that many wedding planners in Singapore. But I guess 5 million people ain't a lot afterall.

And then today, I went for an interview with a Japanese MNC. Turns out that the interviewer was an ex-acquaintance from my previous company. I had only met him briefly once for maybe a day or two. And the funny thing is that he actually stays in my block. We've bumped into each other a couple of times but he couldn't recognise me. Well, after today, we'll definitely be saying hi when we see each other again.

I guess that's why they say you must choose your friends and enemies wisely. You never know who you're gonna bump into some day. :)
