It's been a tiring and wonderful trip. Much good has been said about Taiwan by our numerous friends who have been there within the last year. Turns out they were all right.

Just a brief record of our trip for our future reminiscence:

4th July Wednesday
================
Took Jetstar and arrived in Taipei at 5.45pm. Took the airport van transfer service to Seasons Hotel. Took a leisurely walk to Zhongshan MRT station. Stopped at Jiantan station and sampled our first taste of Shilin. Tried the Taiwan sausage hot dog, BBQ pork stick, oyster omelette, peanut popiah and fried chicken. Took the shuttle bus to Miramar to ride the Ferris Wheel. Back to the hotel for a good soak in the jacuzzi.

5th July Thursday
================
Took the shuttle bus to Taipei Main MRT Station. Stopped at Daan station and walked to Din Tai Fung. Waited only 30mins to get in. Ordered noodles and xiao long bao. Took a bus to Tapiei 101. Started raining. Walked the Xinyi sky bridge to the various shopping malls. Nothing much to do. Took a taxi back to the hotel as it was still raining. The rain finally subsided in the early evening and we walked to Zhongshan station and took the MRT to Shaoguang temple. Visited the Huaxi Night Market. Bought a curling potato chips and cheesy hotdog. Horrible. Ate Kuo Ruo Fan (Pork Fat Rice?). Incredible. Took the train back to Zhongshan and went to the nearby Ningxia Night Market. Small market with lots of food. Back to the hotel for a good rest.

6th July Friday
================
Took the shuttle bus to Zhongshan station and stopped at Taipei Zoo. Rode the newly opened Maokong Gondola. Nice view from the top. Bought Muah Chee and Yogurt Ice-cream. Took the MRT back to Shuanglian and had Daodong Beef Noodles. Simply fantastic. Took the MRT to Taipei City Hall with the intention of going up the Taipei 101 Observatory. Bad luck. It started raining when we alighted at Taipei City Hall. Change of plans. Took the MRT to Beitou. Went to the Spring Resorts for a hot spring soak in a private room. Two nice relaxing hours. After that, took the MRT back towards Taipei City Hall again to go to WuFenPu. Dear bought a few pieces of clothing before she decided that she had better stop before it gets out of control! Took MRT back to the nearby Ningxia Night Market. Took Mee Sua, played Ping Pong game and bought sweet peanut biscuits back to the room for snacking.

7th July Saturday
================
Took the shuttle bus to Zhongshan station and stopped at Taipei City Hall. Finally rode the famous escalator up to the Taipei 101 Observatory. Impressive indeed. Went back to Zhongshan MRT. Took a cab to DaDaoCheng Wharf. Bought three packs of oolong tea at a nearby shop. Took the ferry to Guandu and then onto Danshui and then onto Fisherman Wharf. Watched the sunset at Fisherman Wharf. Took the ferry back to Danshui. Couldn't find much food there other than grilled squid. Took the MRT back to Shilin. Had teppanyaki, fried chicken, pineapple ice-cream. Walked around. Played a shooting game. Played the ping pong game. Bought muah chee. Back to the room to pack up.

8th July Sunday
================
Went back to Din Tai Fung. Waited almost an hour to get in. Ordered fried rice and two sets of xiao long bao. Good way to end a trip... Went back to the hotel. Took the transfer to the airport. Bought Pineapple Cake.

Home Sweet Home.
